Ten years ago, Caterpillar® pulled together four of its dealers with all of their pipeline experience, resources and personnel, to create an exciting new, game-changing equipment dealer. The dynamic new company was engineered and assembled to provide purpose-built equipment to one focused industry – all around the world.

The 8th China International Pipeline Exhibition (INTERPIPE 2013) was held September 12-14, 2013. PLM and Caterpillar Global Pipeline (CGP) jointly participated in this event that took place in Langfang, China’s pipeline city. The event attracted exhibitors from across the world and focused on oil and gas storage, pipeline construction technology, pipeline equipment and materials, pipeline operation and maintenance systems and transportation.

The Rio Pipeline 2013 Conference & Exposition was held September 24-26, 2013. The conference program was designed around relevant topics for the pipeline community on an international scale. The exhibition took place parallel to the conference allowing a larger interaction between delegates, visitors and companies related to the pipeline sector which present the state-of-the-art technology.

The 47th Annual Convention for International Pipe Line & Offshore Contractors Association (IPLOCA) was held September 23-27, 2013 in Washington, DC USA. Association members from all over the world attended the events and general session meetings where leaders of the pipeline construction industry could network in order to discuss business and current issues. Every year this convention provides a platform to bridge dialogue between members and bring key speakers and leading industry professionals together.

On September 4, 2013 PLM held an open house event at the Nisku, Canada yard location. More than one-hundred people attended, with the majority being customers from the surrounding area, to walk around, view up-close and ask questions about the latest in pipeline equipment and technology provided by PLM.

The 44th Annual Convention of the Australian Pipeline Industry Association (APIA) was held in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on October 13-16th. APIA’s Annual Convention brings together participants from all sectors of the pipeline industry as well as other industries that are associated with natural gas and the transportation of energy, slurry and water.

The International Pipe Line & Offshore Contractors Association (IPLOCA) had their 46th Annual Convention September 10-14, 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey. The IPLOCA Convention is a unique opportunity for members to gather in a relaxed setting for five days of technical presentations, business meetings, social events, and tours. The open general meetings focus on onshore and offshore pipelines, training, new technologies, safety, and the environment.

Executives from Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) and leaders from the state of Texas celebrated the grand opening of Caterpillar’s state-of-the-art hydraulic excavator facility in Victoria, Texas. The new, 1.1 million-square-foot operation represents a $200 million investment by Caterpillar to increase excavator capacity and production in the United States. The company has already hired about 225 new employees in Victoria, and plans to continue hiring based on demand for products made in Victoria and as it ramps up production with additional models to be produced at the new facility.

PipeLine Machinery International (PLM) and Caterpillar hosted Pipeline Industry Day at the Caterpillar Malaga Demonstration and Learning Center (MDLC) in Malaga Spain on June 14. Over 70 customers, Caterpillar, PLM and PLM Solution Partners attended the event – the second of its kind with the first being held in that location in 2007. This year’s event was held to showcase the new PL series pipelayers – the PL87, PL83 and PL61 as well as the 953D Welding Tractor and the Cranesmart Load Monitoring System and the DECKHAND® pipe handling system.
