Attention all pipeliners, contractors and operators alike – send us your photo of Cat® pipeline equipment doing its job and you could be the winner of the 2023 PLM Calendar Contest. The winner will be featured on the front of the calendar!

Don't miss this opportunity to showcase your crew and to tell us your story. Pick a setting that highlights your job, your team or what project you are working on.  The past couple of years have presented challenges for all of us so use this an opportunity to show how together, we can succeed.

Consider getting in the picture and have fun with it!  We only ask that you make sure Cat equipment is in the background, that everyone has their safety gear on and that you use a high resolution setting on your camera - 300 dpi is the best.  Deadline is August 31, 2022.  Photo requirements are: 


1. Must show Cat machines working on a pipeline
    right-of-way (preferably a current job)
2. Photo must be available in 300 dpi or better
3. Include your company name, the name of the project,  
    the location,
    the date the picture was taken
4. All entries due by August 31, 2022

The winning photograph for the cover of the 2022 pipeline calendar was taken on the Trans Mountain Pipeline Project near Kamloops, British Columbia – Canada. Sections of pipe were being welded in the ditch before reaching the steep slopes.

The 2021 Pipeline calendar cover featured a Cat PL 87 pipelayer painted red, white and blue as a symbol of unity and support for the pipeline industry.  It is a reminder that we are all in this together and that PLM continues to be a solid resource for the global mainline pipeline construction community.  2020 also marked 15 years for PLM as a Cat dealer who serves the pipeline industry.  The monthly pictures feature a collection of projects that PLM had the privilege of being involved in over the years. We look forward to many more years as your global partner for pipeline solutions.

The winning photograph for the cover of the 2020 pipeline calendar is of the Edmonton to Hardisty pipeline project for Enbridge.  According to Steve, it was just a day of lowering-in a 36 in. pipeline.

Congratulations to David Sabbath & Alex Esber with TransCanada! 
The winning photograph for the cover of this year’s pipeline calendar is of the Mountaineer Xpress (MXP) in West Virginia - USA.  This is a steep slope tie-in on Spread 5.  MXP will add 170 miles of natural gas pipeline to create an attractive new outlet for Appalachian gas supply.  Once complete, the line will safely and reliably deliver clean, affordable, domestically produced natural gas, easing reliance on foreign fuels.

Congratulations to Cem Özbay with Tekfen Construction!
The winning photograph for this year’s pipeline calendar cover was taken of the Trans Anatolian Pipeline Project – Lot 3, located in Turkey.  Cat®PL87 pipelayers are lowering in 56 in. diameter pipe.  Tekfen Construction is a leader in challenging fields of contracting activities, to include pipeline, around the world.  An uncompromising dedication to global quality standards has underscored the company’s consistent growth and stability over five decades.

Congratulations to Basilio Gatonye with Michels Canada!
Basilio submitted this photograph of pipelayers working on a pullback of the Highway 36, HDD crossing. Michels Canada managed and constructed the mainline installation scope of work for the 39.1 miles (63 km) of NPS 36 pipe for Enbridge's Edmonton to Hardisty (E2H) Line 67 Pipeline Project.  Michels successfully completed all the mainline, valve and building installation as well as seven large HDD's with multiple isolated open cut water crossings, including a sheet piled isolated crossing of the Battle river.

Lyndi submitted this photograph of Cat equipment working on the Southern Access Extension project for Enbridge in Illinois - USA. The project consists of 168 miles (270 km) of 24 in. pipe that will transport crude oil from Enbridge Flanagan Terminal near Pontiac, Illinois to an existing crude oil terminal near Patoka, Illinois. The pipelayers here are doing their job - lowering in.

Access Northeast Expansion pipeline is a 184 mile (297 km) long project of 42” pipe that will carry LVP Bitumen Blend and will run from Conklin, AB to Redwater, AB in Canada. This photo depicts the laying of the 42” pipe.

Jeff Miller with Banister Pipeline!

The winning photo is from the Access Northeast Expansion pipeline, 184 miles (297 km) of 42 in. pipe that will carry LVP Bitumen Blend and will run from Conklin, AB to Redwater, AB in Canada.  In this photograph the stringing contractor, Premay, is using the DECKHAND® Pipe Handling System attached to a excavator to move and manipulate the pipe safely and efficiently.



For the First Time We Also Have a Runner-Up in 2014

Bruno Pomare, SPIECAPAG Technical Director, The picture at left is of the SASOL GNP project by SPIECAPAG/WBHO JV. The project is 93+ miles (150km) of 26 in. pipe for a Natural Gas Pipeline from Secunda to Sasolburg - South Africa.
